Broken Echoes

Six months ago today, I held your hand.

I begged, repeatedly.

Asking you, please stay.

Six months ago today, I kissed your head.
I cried, tears burning my heart
Asking you, please hang on.

Six months ago today, I hugged you tight.
I howled in pain,
Asking you, please don’t go.

Six months ago today,
your heart stopped, ma. so did mine.

Unbreaking Chains

159 days = 22 weeks and 5 days.

Ask yourself, what do you do with 159 days? You go on a long trip. Fly across oceans and conquer all the land borders you can find. Drink too much. Meet people. Fall in love. Fall in lust. Get lost. Lose yourself.

159 days = 22 weeks and 5 days.

Work? Study? You may also go on with your routine. Live the life you have always known. Or perhaps the life you have always wanted to live or the life you were trying to escape from.

Write a book. Discover an element. Try out for a mindless reality show.  Finish the Harry Potter series.

159 days = 22 weeks and 5 days.

I called out your name. Deafening silence. Everyday. Day and night. I called out your name. Repeatedly, until my voice gave out. My heart gave out. And you never came back.

159 days = 22 weeks and 5 days since you went off to the sunset. I am still here, calling out your name.

Tomorrow, I do this all over again.

Each Turn.

Stand here with you

One step forward. Two steps back.
We fight, senseless arguments, we hurl words that can never be taken back.

One step forward. Two steps back.
Hues of red, pink and orange, staring back at us.The world made perfect, just for us.Only for us.

One step forward. Two steps back.
Doubting forever. Endless tears. Cold starless skies. Silent screams.

One step forward. Two steps back.
That first time our lips met. That first time you laughed at something silly I said. That movie we barely saw.

One step forward. Two steps back.
Questions and undaunted fears. You cry. I break. repeatedly.

One step forward. Two steps back.
And then we pause.
